About the Authors

Theo and I have been friends in the Gaming World for about eight years. We have played several MMOs together. I love Dragons and the fantasy worlds created in the books that I have read for years. I wanted to create my own world using the characters I developed in the video games I played and the characters that my friends made. I have a very analytical mind, and Theo has a more descriptive mind, so once we got rolling, the book took on a life of its own. We are proud to bring you the first book in "Pact of the Keeps" series. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

Brian Lee (Shamash) was also a tremendous help with early editing and constant re-reading and ideas. Also, our systems and communications coordinator.

Flint (Paladin) joined us in editing books two and three. She is great for bouncing ideas off of and watching for continuity issues.

All of the main characters have a real person behind them. Our Gamer Friends created backstories and these awesome heroes. We have worked really hard to capture their personalities in the books we are writing. Unfortunately for privacy reasons we are not listing who is who, they will know their parts when they read the books.

Ghod, grumpy and moody, with a heart of gold but he will deny it. Gavin all country with a hard-working attitude. Rogue was sneaky and always attacking because something looked at him funny. Greenbean and Fab Ulous the studier and planner. Ishvet is a quiet power player with a comedic jab where needed. Grace and Judas' characters push the limits. Mandrake and Vicar great freezing and healing comic relief. Darkwing is the sarcastic and in-your-face comic power Wizard. Ordyn the analytical historian Weapon Fighter. Ouch and Magrath, a true married couple extraordinaire and a good team. Akita the mothering and organizing Warlock, is always around to add her powers. All in all an eclectic group of people who met 8+ years ago playing games and perfecting playing skills with laughter, respect, and love.

About BK Staples

I am an older woman, that often says I am going through my second childhood. I have worked hard all my life and my son is grown, so I can do what I want now. I have always loved Fantasy, which includes Dragons and Big Cats. I play video games like Elder Scrolls Online, Skyrim, and Neverwinter. One day, while my friends and I were playing, the idea hit me to write about our characters. I wanted to create a new world and a totally different adventure. The first six chapters took me forever by myself, and then Theo Moon joined me and the books kinda gained a life of their own. I am looking at retirement in ten or so years, and this is something that will keep me busy. The one thing we tried to do with the characters (listed above) in these books we are writing, is give them the personality of the friends who created them and I believe we did that. We created a map and then populated our world. The one thing that was important to us, was writing it so that all ages can read it. Where there is some violence it's no different from the video games these kids are playing, there is no "cussing" and relationships are implied.

Being a first-time author is exciting and scary. It has become an adventure in cover art, publishing, and posting our book(s) to all the platforms possible. Now it is an adventure in Marketing because we are new. So feel free to reach out to us, and ask questions from the Contact Page.

About Theo Moon

Hello everyone, my name is Theo Moon. Thanks for checking out our book. I am very proud of the finished product and of our upcoming novels. Like Mrs. Staples detailed above, I came into this project to help her get past her writer's block. We have been friends for many years and have similar interests in the fantasy genre. I spoke to her for hours on end about the first book and read through the six chapters that she had written. It was a great jumping off point for me.

I offered her many different edits and character plots to continue her writing of the book. However, I was soon writing with her and helping to develop the story, characters, and environment. The more that we wrote, the more invested I became in the book. Sometimes I would write a whole excerpt, keeping it a secret, then showing it to her to get her reaction to a crazy plot twist. It was so fun.

At this point in time, we are writing the third book in the series and have plans to write books related to the Pact of the Keeps series. I look forward to sharing more of our fantasy world in the future and I hope you can get lost in it as we do.

In case you were wondering, I am in my mid-forties, and I have been playing video games since the first Atari. I grew up in a small central Illinois town. I went to vocational college after high school to become a Horticulturalist and then moved into Culinary Arts. Today I work in a small restaurant, just like Odd Thomas, except I don't see dead people and demons. Some of my favorite fantasy classics are Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, and The Neverending Story, by Ende and the newer Harry Potter series by Rowling, and two of my favorite authors are Stephen King and Dean Koontz.
